Citroën 2CV “Skinny”- 1989
The “Skinny” 2CV, occasionally referred to as a 1CV, is essentially a standard 2CV that has been narrowed in size by half. While little is documented in regards to the creation of this slender version, several other skinny 2CVs exist. The craftsmanship involved in transforming this car is remarkable, with seamless integration making it nearly impossible to discern where the car’s sections were reassembled. The resulting vehicle accommodates only two individuals: a driver and a passenger.
Despite maintaining the original 2CV’s drivetrain, including the engine, transmission, and front-wheel drive, significant alterations were made to the rear suspension. This adjustment involved turning the rear suspension inward within the chassis and narrowing the back of the 2CV. Apart from the reduction in body width, this remains the sole substantial modification implemented during the vehicle’s construction.
