Lanham sport roadster- 1951

The Lanham Sport Roadster project began in 1947 when Tom Lanham of Illinois, challenged by a friend, set out to build a custom roadster with his brother Bob. They used a mix of salvaged parts, including a 1933 Chevrolet frame, 1937 Plymouth axles, and a Studebaker engine. Tom’s time serving in the Korean War delayed progress, and the roadster sat unfinished for years. After the war, Tom revived the project, and with help from his son Matt, the car was eventually painted and driven around their neighborhood. After more years of sitting, the roadster was restored in 2007 to its 1950s configuration, including a new engine and transmission. It was completed in 2017 and is now part of the Lane Motor Museum collection.
