The RZ350 represented the end of an area for road going two strokes. Decked out in its beautiful Kenny Roberts inspired bodywork, the RZ was not only good looking, but an incredible ride. Compared with its 4 stroke competition, the RZ was light and fast. On a smooth road, the suspension could be firmed up to offer maximum cornering clearance. On bumpy roads, the suspension is a bit of a compromise, but acquitted itself quite well. The RZ was Yamaha’s swan’s song in the two stroke class. In Europe it continued in production, but for the U.S. market, it was the end of the line. The weight of this bike is 371 pounds, an amazing 66 pounds less than its main competitor, the Honda VF 500 Interceptor.
